Obtaining Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies can be done in many different ways. Especially when it comes to buying and selling smaller amounts, many traders prefer using a broker over established exchanges. The following Dutch brokers have all made a name for themselves in recent times, albeit they too need to remain competitive at all times.

Bitcoin Meester – Bitcoin and Altcoins

Although the name would not necessarily suggest it, Bitcoin Meester is a cryptocurrency broker which looks well beyond Bitcoin. Over the past few years, the company decided to provide exposure for most of the top altcoins, simply because there is such high demand. Being able to buy the likes of Tron and XRP with the Euro through convenient payment methods is beneficial to all parties involved in the process.  The company provides a quick and direct service which allows customers to purchase cryptocurrency within a few minutes.

On the list of supported cryptocurrencies are all of the usual suspects. Bitcoin is included, as are Tron, Stellar, Holo, Litecoin, ReddCoin, Verge, and dozens of others. A total of 164 currencies can be bought and sold through this platform. Considering how users are not hindered by buying and selling limits, it is not hard to see why brokers are so popular these days. Supported fiat currency payment methods include bank transfer and iDeal, which allows for a quick turnaround.

BTC Direct – Bitcoin and Select Altcoins

Another well-known cryptocurrency broker in the Netherlands goes by the name of BTC Direct. The company not only provides a service to buy, sell, and trade cryptocurrencies, but they also have a built-in wallet solution for those who prefer to explore that option. Storing funds in one’s own wallet is always the advisable course of action, but it is a nice touch regardless.

Contrary to Bitcoin Meester, BTC Direct supports fewer altcoins at this time. Its main currencies include Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, XRP, and Litecoin. Users can obtain these currencies through iDeal, bank transfer, Bancontact, and credit card payments. Plenty of options for customers in the Netherlands, but also for those in the rest of the European Union. Especially Belgian users will appreciate the Bancontact option, as it allows for nearly instant transactions.

Anycoin Direct – Several Dozen Cryptocurrencies

It is evident cryptocurrency brokers need to look well beyond Bitcoin in an effort to remain competitive these days. Anycoin Direct supports several dozen currencies, including NEO, Dogecoin, GAS, PIVX, and Peercoin. Some of those currencies will be a lot more popular compared to others, but that is only to be expected at this time. Unlike BTC Direct, Anycoin Direct does not provide a web wallet service, yet they do keep a list of prominent Bitcoin wallets on their website.

One thing that sets apart Anycoin Direct is how it supports a lot more payment methods. They also offer payments through iDeal, Bancontact, bank transfers, and credit card. However, the platform is also compatible with Giropay, EPS, and Sofort transfers to help speed up the purchasing process altogether. All things considered, another broker service worth checking out for European cryptocurrency enthusiasts who would prefer not to deal with traditional exchanges.

Bitonic – Simply Bitcoin

Albeit it would appear as if there is a growing focus on alternative cryptocurrencies among Dutch crypto brokers, Bitonic is simply maintaining its attention on Bitcoin first and foremost. This is the world’s leading cryptocurrency which can provide a gateway to all of the alternative cryptocurrencies, tokens, and assets on the market.

With this rather straightforward business model, Bitonic seems to be generating a lot of volume. On the website, the company claims over 375,000 BTC has been sold since its inception. Its payment methods are also somewhat limited, as just iDeal, Bancontact, and MyBank are supported at this time. Even so, it is still one of the more popular Bitcoin brokers in the Netherlands, which further confirms how dominant Bitcoin trading is compared to altcoins.

Knaken – Not to be Confused With Kraken

Knaken is another cryptocurrency broker which seems to provide exposure to Bitcoin and dozens of alternative offerings in exchange for fiat currency payments. The platform also prides itself on not charging any commission when customers either buy or sell cryptocurrency. Albeit this service is mainly designed for Dutch clients, their payment methods suggest customers from across the European Union will be able to obtain cryptocurrency through this platform as well.

As an added service, Knaken also offers a merchant service to its customers. More specifically, users can accept payments through iDeal and let others buy cryptocurrency. This allows users to sell some of their potentially unwanted coins, or simply let them run their own online cryptocurrency shop of sorts. An interesting option, and another welcome addition to the competitive cryptocurrency broker industry in the Netherlands.
