Run for Light 2019, Sponsored by Crypto Daily

Run for Light is an annual event held in Singapore since 2014, featuring a series of sponsored 1km, 5km and 10km races. Participants pay an entry fee and proceeds from the races go to support the Guide Dogs Singapore charity, assisting those that suffer with vision problems and loss of sight. The 2019 Run for Light event was proudly sponsored by Crypto Daily, raising vital funds and awareness for sight and vision problems affecting individuals in Singapore and around the world.

2019 Event

The 2019 Run for Light event took place at Punggol Waterway Park in Singapore on the 26th of January between 5pm and 10pm. Prizes were awarded for both the men’s and women’s 10km event on the day, with first place winners receiving an $300 (Singapore dollars) cash prize along with their championship trophy. Second to fifth-placed contestants also received awards of cash prizes and gifts to recognise their achievements. All participants who complete the 10km open race receive a finisher medal. Registration fees for participants ranged from $38 for the 5km fun run to $45 for the 10km main event, with discounts available for multiple bookings in ‘2-To-Go’ and ‘3-To-Go’ packages.

Race Entry

Participants for the 10km open timed event are required to be aged 13 years or above, with parental permission required for anyone aged between 13 and 17. The 5km fun run is open to children from age four years, provided anyone under 18 has parental permission. All entrants receive a race pack which contains everything they need for the run, including their official race identifier and a running t-shirt. For the 10km open there is a timing system to record finishing times.
